Sharpen your pencils or loosen up your typing fingers to write a 200-word essay on why your dad should be our Father of the Year. Let’s recognize our fathers, their generosity, sacrifices, and love for us! We are in year two of a yearly tradition of selecting one “fine dad” to hold the reign for a year. Prizes include a Father of the Year plaque, a $150 gift certificate for family lunch/dinner to Finney’s Crafthouse in Orange, and a blessed Roman Catholic bible.
The contest will begin on April 26, and entry is free. The deadline for written essay entries is May 31, 2025 at 5:00 PM. Please submit your entries via USPS or hand deliver to our church administration office, attention “Father of the Year Award – RLM”. Include your name and telephone number so that we may reach you. Our team of Respect Life Ministry members will review all entries and will contact the winner on June 5, 2025. Please note that any entries over 200 words will not be accepted.
We will present our Father of the Year at the 10:00 AM mass on Father’s Day. The winning father must be present to accept his award, as our parish acknowledges this great honor for fathers! Family photo opportunities will be available with our celebrant of the mass too!
