About Confirmation

The Confirmation program is a two-year process with the goal of fostering and developing the faith of the youth of San Antonio Parish and to confirm them in the Spirit to be mature adults in the Catholic faith. Teens in grades 9, 10 or 11 may enroll in the program. They are confirmed in spring at the end of the second year.

Teens are placed into small groups who they will journey with for the two year program. Due to the size of our program, we cannot accommodate special placement requests. Each small group has at least 2 adult volunteers. Teen co-leaders from our SALT group are assigned as available. All volunteers complete the Safe Environment process as prescribed by the Diocese.

Classes are on Tuesdays 7:30-9:00 pm. See calendar for specific dates. Confirmation meetings are split between two locations: in the Parish Hall and at an adult volunteer’s home.

There are three teen-sponsor meetings each year held on Sundays in the Parish Hall. In addition they are required to attend our LIVE Stations production held on a Friday during Lent. See calendar for specific dates.

Confirmation students are allowed 3 absences during each year of the program. (no makeups are offered)

Each year the confirmation teen is required to attend the retreat for that year. ALL teens are required to travel up and down on the bus. If they are unable to attend San Antonio’s retreat, they must attend a 3 day, 2 night retreat with another parish. Contact Youth Ministry Office for alternative retreats.

Confirmation students must complete 10 hours of community service each year. Teens are responsible for submitting the Service Project Form to receive credit. It can be found online and in our office.
