Rev. Ven Amidar, Parochial Vicar

Ordained in 1978

I was born in Borongan City, Eastern Samar, in the Philippines in May of 1954 as Venancio Limbauan Amidar. where I studied and earned a Bachelor of the Arts Degree in Philosophy. I went to San Carlos Seminary College, Cebu City, Philippines and Pontifical University of Sto. Thomas, Manila, Philippines with a Bachelor’s degree in Sacred Theology. My post Graduate Studies at Pontifical University of St. Thomas, Rome, Italy. Degree – Licentiate in Philosophical Anthropology

Before coming to the US, I spent 26 years of ministry in my home diocese in the Philippines. Started as a Parochial Vicar and then as pastor in two parishes. Spent 13 years of teaching in the seminary. Was a rector of our high school seminary for three years, appointed Vice Rector of our regional college seminary. After my post graduate studies in Rome, my bishop gave me the gargantuan task of establishing our own college seminary. And I did – Our Lady of the Nativity College Seminary. I became its first Rector and Dean of Studies.
